In 2017 Iván formed his own group, Ensamble Kawllay (from a Quechuan word for feeling or emotion).  The ensemble aims to explore the links between western music of the seventeenth century and Colombian folk music, by mixing European works composed for baroque guitar with Colombian folk percussion.
